When can I start pelvic floor physiotherapy after giving birth?
It depends on your needs:
In the first few weeks, for pain relief, difficulty with mobility, scarring, or discomfort.
From 6 weeks onwards, for a complete internal assessment, if clinically appropriate and preferably after your postpartum check-up.
The decision is yours. There is no single rule that applies to everyone.
However, the physiotherapist will take your situation and condition into account at the time of the assessment appointment.
